Science and the planets In the fight against extreme air pollution, has adopted the Indian capital city of New Delhi in the next two weeks, in a rotation system for the road. Only cars with an even number on the number plate are allowed to be today on the road. Tomorrow it’s the turn of the odd numbers. The goal is for the group to be reduced.

Above the city, with an estimated 20 million people depend, are currently in a toxic fog, forcing people to suffer from irritated eyes, and dry mouth. The contamination is mainly coming from the countryside, and every year around this time, agricultural lands in the fire (see below). This leads us again and again, in combination with the cold weather and low winds, to fog in the area.

The air in Delhi is also among the most polluted in the world due to the increasing road traffic, the emissions of the industry, and all of the millions of poor people.
