The police are looking for a man who is said to have robbed at least 20 people of their money with false apartment advertisements. The alleged fraudster had already placed false advertisements for a rental apartment in Berlin last summer and autumn, the police said on Monday.

He is said to have then persuaded interested parties to transfer an alleged broker’s commission of EUR 500 each to bank accounts previously opened under false personal details. The previously known victims come from Potsdam, Falkensee, Berlin, Thuringia, Lower Saxony and Hamburg, among others
