A Russian high-explosive grenade was found in the botanical garden in Berlin-Lichterfelde on Tuesday. As the police announced, the grenade should be blown up in the evening.

The residents of two residential buildings in the area were asked to stay on the side of their apartment facing away from the botanical garden. The S-Bahn traffic would remain interrupted until the blast, it said.

The Berlin S-Bahn announced that train traffic was interrupted because of the ammunition found on the S1 line between Friedenau and Zehlendorf.
