Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) wants to return to Berlin from Pakistan this Wednesday after her positive rapid corona test. This was announced by the spokesman for the Federal Foreign Office, Christofer Burger, on Tuesday in the Pakistani capital Islamabad.

At lunch with her counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, shortly after the start of the visit, Baerbock realized that she no longer tasted anything. As a result, a rapid corona test was positive. The result of a PCR test was initially pending. Baerbock originally wanted to visit Greece and Turkey by Friday.

Burger said the minister was in her hotel room. It is planned that she will travel back to Germany with the delegation – on the same plane with which she arrived. Due to the nature of the aircraft – an Airbus A319 from the Luftwaffe’s flight readiness service – there is a possibility that the minister will spend the flight in complete isolation. “And that’s how it will take place,” said Burger.
