The Lord Mayor of Frankfurt, Peter Feldmann (SPD), does not comply with the request to resign from his own party. In a statement on Wednesday, he merely promised to hold back on public appointments and offered to suspend his membership in the SPD.

Feldmann apologized for mistakes in the past few days. Among other things, he addressed allegations in connection with a sexist statement about flight attendants. “Yes, I made mistakes,” said Feldmann, for which he was rightly criticized.

The 63-year-old is accused of corruption in connection with the Awo affair and has also been noticed by other slips in the past few days. A video appeared in which the mayor spoke of flight attendants on the flight to the Europa League final from Eintracht Frankfurt to Seville, “who put me out of action hormonally at first”.
