The Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) sold more than one million 9-euro tickets up to and including Whit Monday. “We are very pleased about the very great response to the campaign in all sales channels,” said a spokesman on Tuesday. Around 844,000 of the tickets sold are for the month of June. With the promotional ticket, passengers can use local public transport throughout Germany for a month in June, July and August.

The company also announced that the ticket on the Pentecost weekend did not lead to an excessive rush to BVG buses and trains. “In the Pentecost traffic of the BVG, passenger demand was comparable to other long weekends in summer weather,” it said. “Overall we were well prepared.”
