the Double champion of Russia on Boxing George Kushitashvili arrested on the case about beating of the employee of Regardie and possession of drugs are excluded from the Russian team, reported by the Secretary-General of the Federation of Boxing of Russia Umar Kremlev.
“Kushitashvili excluded from the national team of Russia, said the Kremlin, quoted by TASS. – He will no longer participate in the activities of the national team”.
Sunday, February 2, kushitashvili of another boxer, Hovik Hovhannisyan was arrested by members of Regardie on suspicion of drug possession. George resisted, in the end, both athletes were arrested.
Kushitashvili is charged with part 1 of article 228 of the criminal code (possession and distribution of drugs) and part 2 of article 318 of the criminal code (use of violence dangerous for life or health). He faces up to ten years of imprisonment.
“If the investigation proves that he raised his hand to the officer Regardie, we condemn this, he will answer under the law, if confirmed, we are for tough sanctions. Throw we will not, because he gave so many years of Boxing, but will insist on the maximum punishment under these articles, if it is proved,” said the Kremlin.
Recall George, speaking in the weight category up to 81 kg, has won the Russian championship in 2015 and 2018, in 2019 he reached the quarterfinals of the world championship in Yekaterinburg.
