The man who was reported missing after swimming in the Weißen See in Berlin-Pankow on Friday evening is dead. The body of the wanted man was found under water on Saturday afternoon and recovered from the lake, a police spokeswoman said.

Accordingly, the man is a 26-year-old. The fire brigade called off the search for the man early on Saturday morning after several hours without finding anything. Police continued the search with divers throughout the day.

The body was taken to forensic medicine, the spokeswoman said. A death investigation has been initiated. There is no evidence of third-party negligence.
