According to estimates by the Berlin State Criminal Police Office (LKA) in Germany, the amount of fraud with falsified statements in corona test centers is in the billions.

In Berlin alone there are now around 380 investigations, the police said. The “Süddeutsche Zeitung” had previously reported.

Jörg Engelhard, head of an investigative commissariat in the LKA Berlin, told the newspaper that if you extrapolate the Berlin numbers to the whole of Germany and take into account the high number of unreported cases, you have to go from a “frightening number” of at least one billion up to 1.5 billion euros in fraud.

According to the report, the commercial operators of the rapid test stations have so far requested more than ten billion euros from the state.

In Berlin in April there was talk of 335 preliminary investigations into invented corona tests, the damage was around 24 million euros. Converted to Germany as a whole, that would be around 500 million euros. But the number of suspected cases continues to rise and because there have been and are hardly any constant thorough controls of the many thousands of private test centers in Germany, many false statements should not be noticed.
