According to a media report, several people were killed in a gun attack in Buffalo, New York. An attacker armed with a “powerful rifle” opened fire in a grocery store and killed ten people, local newspaper “The Buffalo News” reported on Saturday, citing a police representative and investigators. Three other people suffered injuries.

It was initially unclear how many people were injured and whether the death toll could rise. The New York City police had previously reported that the shooter had been arrested. NBC, on the other hand, initially reported that the perpetrator, who entered the supermarket with a gun and military-style equipment, was killed.

New York State Governor Kathy Hochul wrote on Twitter on Saturday that she was closely monitoring the situation after the incident at a local grocery store. “If you are in Buffalo, please avoid the area and follow the instructions of law enforcement and local authorities.”
