Around two dozen activists demonstrated against the import and use of fossil fuels with a blockade in the Seefeld tank farm of the mineral oil company PCK. In Werneuchen, Brandenburg (Barnim district), around 15 demonstrators glued themselves to the street in front of the main entrance to the camp on Monday morning, a police spokeswoman said. Special forces are still busy freeing the protesters with solvents.

The “Last Generation” initiative, which rejects any kind of fossil energy and also the operation of the PCK refinery in Schwedt, is known for the campaign. Activists are also said to have climbed onto the company’s tanker trucks to hold them up for as long as possible. The police spokeswoman confirmed that traffic to and from the site was temporarily suspended due to the action. PCK initially did not comment on this.
