A 15-year-old was rescued from the roof of an S-Bahn in Berlin on Friday evening and died at the scene of the accident. The fire department announced on Twitter that all resuscitation measures were unsuccessful. The accident happened around 11:00 p.m. at the Steglitz S-Bahn station. The police could not confirm on Saturday morning whether the young victim was an S-Bahn surfer – someone who rides on the roof of the train.

The fatality is said to have been with two other young people, as the fire brigade announced on Saturday morning. The two companions, as well as two witnesses and the driver of the S-Bahn received medical care, one person was taken to an adjacent clinic.

There are always fatal accidents when surfing the S-Bahn in Berlin: Last April, a 15-year-old died at the Lankwitz S-Bahn station after falling off the roof of the train and getting under the train.
